Ray Goossens

Ray Goossens was a Belgian animator, director, and comics artist, renowned for his significant contributions to European animation. In 1940, he co-founded the AFIM animation studios with Henri Winkeler and Edmond Roex, producing short animated films such as Smidje Smee. Post-World War II, Goossens ventured into comics, working with the weekly youth magazine Kleine Zondagsvriend. He is best known for creating the children's television series Musti (1968–1991), featuring a minimalist animation style that captivated young audiences. Goossens also directed the animated film Pinocchio in Outer Space (1965), showcasing his versatility in storytelling. His work has left a lasting legacy in the field of animation.
