Mario Pimenta is a Goa-based filmmaker and festival director known for blending grounded storytelling with emerging technology. He gained early recognition with short films and documentaries that explore Goan culture, personal narratives and social themes.

In 2025, Pimenta created Goa’s First AI Film, Job Needed - an experimental short that positioned him as one of the region’s pioneers in AI-assisted cinema. He is also the Festival Director of the Gaur International Film Festival (GIF Festival), Goa’s first film festival dedicated to uplifting Goan filmmakers while welcoming national and global entries.

His filmography includes the environmental short Act to Achieve and the collaborative mental-health film Rishi, both of which earned festival attention. Known for his creative experimentation, Pimenta represents the new wave of young Goan filmmakers pushing the boundaries of independent cinema.
