Nadika Weligodapola

Jul 18, 1986 - Colombo, Sri Lanka

Nadika Weligodapola is a Sri Lankan film composer and music producer based in Colombo. His work spans feature films, documentary films, short films, and television dramas, with a scoring approach that integrates Sri Lankan musical traditions with contemporary cinematic orchestration and sound design.

He composed the original score for the teledrama "Pithru", directed by Ananda Abeynayake, receiving multiple Best Music awards at leading Sri Lankan award ceremonies. He also co-composed the background score for "Wedi Nowadina Lamai" (Bulletproof Children), directed by Indika Ferdinando, which won Best Background Score at the SIGNIS Awards in 2023. The film is recognized as the first Sri Lankan production to be mixed in Dolby Atmos.

With a background in traditional dance from an early age, his compositional voice is shaped by rhythm, movement, and cross-cultural influences. In addition to his screen work, he is the founder and co-director of "THEEVRA" Arts Organization (Est. 2004) and has composed extensively for theatre and dance productions. His debut album, Land of the Nirvana (2020), reflects his interest in blending folk, classical, jazz, and electronic elements within a cinematic framework.
