Yehia Safwat is an Egyptian engineer, writer, and screenwriter, born in Cairo in 1975. He is also a swimmer and the director of an engineering company. He is the first Egyptian writer to write fiction novels in both Arabic and English, specializing in mystery, thriller, and epic fantasy. He has published six works, in addition to a collection of short stories, short films, and philosophical blogs. His novel "Geneinet El Mahrouky" was published with "Dar El Ain" in 2020. He also wrote a trilogy of mystery and horror in Arabic titled "Bir El Deif," which achieved one of the highest sales rates at this year's book fair, with the first edition selling out completely five days before the end of the fair. This trilogy was also published with "Dar El Ain" and was nominated as one of ten novels for translation and distribution in Europe.
His novel "What the Ashes Concealed" was published with Dar Al Ain in 2022. He also wrote a novel in English titled "The Dark Season Saga," which is an epic fantasy in the style of "Lord of the Rings" and remained a bestseller on Amazon for a period of time. It is currently being translated into Arabic.
