Rafi Eka

Oct 10, 2003 - Jakarta

Rafi Eka is a filmmaker and screenwriter from Jakarta with a strong interest in social issues and the exploration of human psychology. Despite having a childhood fear of watching movies in theaters due to a frightening 3D experience, he grew up as someone who frequently recorded anything he liked and published it on his YouTube channel.

He is currently studying Broadcasting at the Multimedia Training Centre Yogyakarta, where he often works as an Assistant Director, Director of Photography, and Screenwriter. In 2024, his debut short film, Lost Boy, which tells the story of a teenager’s loneliness during the COVID-19 pandemic, was published on the short film platform, Vidsee.

As a storyteller, Rafi believes that film is not just entertainment but also an art form that has the power to speak to a wider audience. His works are heavily inspired by the storytelling styles of Christopher Nolan, Stanley Kubrick, and Wregas Bhanuteja.
