Chaz Jacob Loreto is a filmmaker and producer with a deep love for the industry. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, he built his foundation in the locations department — learning the rhythm of a working set from the ground up before relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia to study film production at Vancouver Film School.
At VFS, Chaz found his passion for producing, and went on to produce his thesis short film, MORIBUND (2024). After graduating, he returned to Ontario and has since hit the ground running — producing GOOD INTENTIONS (2025) back in Vancouver and BIG HUGS (2026) closer to home in Tiny, Ontario.
In 2025, Chaz founded Small Hugs Picture Company — a production company specializing in story-driven projects, with the goal to champion the next generation of Canadian talent. Collaborative and detail-oriented, he brings both care and ambition to every project he touches.
