Olivier Richard, Born in Paris in 1965, is an author, journalist, and director specializing in music and comics.
He has written for magazines such as "Rock & Folk," "Player One," "L'Affiche," "SVM Mac," "Brain," "Blast," "Tsugi," and "Chine Plus." He has published the books "Les Chroniques de Player One" (with A. Kahn/Pika, 2010), "La Souris Déglinguée - histoire d'un groupe de rock'n'roll" (Camion Blanc, 2011), "Akira Toriyama le maître du manga" (12bis, 2011), and "Manga 120 essentiels - la mangathèque idéale" (12bis, 2012). He also writes comic book scripts and is currently working on the series "Les Licteurs" with illustrator Kim Chen (published by 12bis, released in 2013).
He has been interested in contemporary Chinese music for several years and has published numerous articles on the subject in various magazines ("Rock & Folk," "Brain," "Chine Plus," "Tsugi," etc.).
On television, Olivier Richard worked on children's programming for France 2 before joining MCM (Lagardère), where he was editor-in-chief and then head of programming from 1996 to 2009. He also directed programming for Europe 2 TV and Virgin 17 (2005-2009). He has produced numerous music documentaries about metal music, notably for the Enorme TV channel.
