Damir Kabekovich Manabaev (Kazakh: Дамир Кабекеұлы Манабай; born 11 June 1946; Shymkent) is a Soviet and Kazakh film director and screenwriter. His films "Surzhekey-angel of death" and "Kek" are participants and prize-winners of international film festivals.

Graduated from the Shymkent Polytechnic; directing faculty of VGIK (master. Yu. Egorova, 1978). Prior to the institute, he worked in working specialties at the factories of Karatau, Shymkent, Alma-Ata, served in the SA. Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR (1988). Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2009). Professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov.
