Arturo Menéndez (born October 3, 1978) is a Salvadoran film director, screenwriter, and producer known for his contributions to contemporary cinema in El Salvador. He studied film direction in New York and screenwriting in Madrid, and is the founder of the independent production company Mecosta Films International.

Menéndez gained international recognition with his short film Cinema Libertad, which was showcased at numerous festivals worldwide, and his 2014 feature Malacrianza, considered the first Salvadoran fiction film in decades to be presented internationally. He also directed La palabra de Pablo (2018), a drama that was acquired for distribution by HBO, further marking a milestone for Salvadoran cinema.

Over more than two decades, Menéndez has been a leading voice in bringing Salvadoran stories to international audiences, combining social insight with cinematic craft, and continues to create films that explore the country’s cultural and human dimensions.
