Mike Clarke

Apr 7, 1980 - Liverpool, Merseyside, England, UK

An avid film fan all his life, Mike started to learn filmmaking before his teenage years and continued to develop his style with short films in the early '90s. These films first helped him to be recognized by critics in movie magazines all over the world.

After a hiatus from creating, Mike Clarke returned to his passion in 2013 with yet more acclaimed short films such as A Hand to Play (starring Hellraiser's Doug Bradley), Paper and Plastic (with Anthony Quinlan), and Love's Innocence Lost (Damien Ashley). All of which were scored highly by critics and won numerous awards.

Described as one of "Britain's best up-and-coming filmmakers" Mike Clarke has now moved into feature films with the horror movie The Stranger (co-directing with Paul Gerrard) and gritty British drama A Light Through Coloured Glass, the latter of which garnered over thirty awards at film festivals around the world.
