Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. (born October 31, 1951) is an American sportscaster and former professional and college football coach. He serves as an analyst for ESPN's College GameDay, a television program covering college football. He is widely considered to be the greatest football coach of all time. Saban served as head coach of the Miami Dolphins in the NFL and four universities in college football: the Toledo Rockets, Michigan State Spartans, LSU Tigers, where he won his first of seven national championships in 2003, and most famously the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he last coached from 2007 to 2023 and led the team to six national championships in nine championship appearances during that period.
