Kazuto Tobe, a salaryman at a top trading company, has lost his daughter and his relationship with his wife, Yoshimi, is strained. It is at this time that Tobe meets Keiko Nakazawa, a part-time worker at his favourite coffee shop. Tobe finds solace in seeing the likeness of his deceased daughter in her. However, Keiko is sold to a brothel by the yakuza due to her father's debts, and after her mother's death, she takes her own life. Diagnosed with terminal cancer, Tobe dedicates the rest of his life to revenge.
