Village in a Box

A Scottish artist, living in the small French town of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbes, chances upon a small discarded wooden box. Inside are the identity cards of the local townspeople, dating back to World War Two. How will this box and its content affect the artist and indeed the people within the box?
