Friends Ben Trotter, Doug Anderton and Philip Chase deal with teenage angst, their parents' complex lives, and the political and social turmoil of the 1970s, including a tragic IRA pub bombing that affects Ben's family.

1975; Ben and his family struggle to deal with the death of his sister. While Cicely Boyd is unattainable, Ben spends his time on the school magazine. Doug gets an interview with the NME and ends up with the weekend of a lifetime.
