But the system is broken, and nearly 5 million Canadians are now without a family doctor. Last year alone, 2 million Canadians went in search of a doctor and came up empty-handed. They discovered firsthand that Canada is in the middle of a critical doctor shortage. The family doctor that Canadians know and love is at risk of extinction.
