Kodak Lindsey

Jan 16, 2003 - United States

Kodak Lindsey studied theater and performance at Cours Florent, Emerson College, and the Hale Theater before starting development for Pas de Deux, his debut feature film. Before his acting studies, he trained for 15 years as a ballet dancer in the Vaganova method. He trained with the Ellison Ballet School, the Royal Ballet School, the Bolshoi, the San Francisco Ballet, the International City School of Ballet, the Greenwich Ballet Academy, the MOGA Conservatory of Dance, and others. He has also worked with Keenan Kampa for private coaching, the first American to dance with the Mariinsky Ballet in Russia. Lindsey is the author of his self-published poetry books, The Smell of Orange Peels and A Heart Wrapped in Cellophane. He has won awards for Harp playing and original music composition, and placed in the Youth American Grand Prix in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2021 under the name Emma Lindsey. In 2018, Lindsey placed in the top 12 in the contemporary category at YAGP Boston with the solo, Per Aspera Ad Astra, which he choreographed himself. Lindsey's identities with being a FTM transgender and autistic man are integral to his soul as an artist, and how he perceives and experiences living in the world.
