David I. Strasser

David I. Strasser is an award-winning episodic and television feature director and executive producer based in Vancouver, Canada. His work reaches global audiences on Hallmark Channel (U.S.), Lifetime Television (U.S.), Channel 4 (U.K.), TF1 (France), and W Network (Canada). His projects have earned multiple accolades, including nominations from the Canadian Screen Awards, the Leo Awards, and the Directors Guild of Canada Awards.

A versatile storyteller, David has directed across mystery, thriller, procedural drama, holiday, and romance. He directed Episodes 3 & 4 of the forthcoming (2025) crime-drama series Blue Skies and recently wrapped a new Lifetime Original drama starring Valerie Bertinelli, Eric McCormack, and Henry Czerny. Recent credits include Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder (2026), The Wish Swap (2025), Nelly Knows Mysteries: A Fatal Engagement (2024), Deadly Wives Club (2024), and Hallmark’s All I Need for Christmas (2024).

Beyond directing, David contributes to story at the script stage, with development credits on The Picture of Christmas (2021), A Snapshot of Forever (2022), Mistletoe Match (2022), Love’s Secret Ingredient (2023), and Royally Yours, At Christmas (2023).

An alumnus of the TIFF Filmmaker Lab, a JETS Talent Lab participant at the 68th Berlinale, and a Telus STORYHIVE Banff Fellowship recipient, David’s feature projects have received development support from Telefilm Canada and Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund. He holds a Film Production diploma from Vancouver Film School and a Juris Doctorate from the Allard School of Law at UBC.
